Douglas College now offers two types of entry scholarships for the Fall, Winter, and Summer semesters:

Regional Entrance Award for Douglas International Education: $1000 – $2000

There is no need for a separate application. Students will be automatically assessed when they apply to Douglas College and will be notified of this reward when they get an offer of admission.

Students from the CIS countries (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, and Uzbekistan), Europe, Latin America, the Middle East, Africa, East Asia, Southeast Asia, and South Asia (Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Nepal) are eligible.

Students must have applied to Douglas College before the official semester application date mentioned below to be eligible for this grant.

Successful applicants often have an above-average GPA (B equivalent or above) as well as good English language proficiency exam scores (i.e., IELTS 7.0 or higher, or equivalent).

Scholarships For Returning International Students At Douglas College

Douglas College International established the Education Returning International Student Scholarships in 1995. International students who are continuing their studies at Douglas College and have shown academic achievement are eligible for the award.

  • When they have completed at least 21 credit hours but fewer than 42 credit hours
  • Once the student has completed at least 42 credits
  • This scholarship is only given out once a semester.
  • This scholarship cannot be applied for; instead, individuals are chosen based on the criteria listed above and told if they have been given a scholarship.

Dean Award For Continuing Student Global Citizenship0

The Global Citizenship Dean’s Awards honor Douglas College students who demonstrate global capabilities in action.

Award winners demonstrate their dedication to global citizenship through their studies (course selection and experiences) and community involvement.

They also exhibit high levels of practical global abilities such as perspective-taking, global self-awareness, critical thinking, and intercultural communication skills across contexts.

The following are the minimum prerequisites for applying:

  • At the time of application, you must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • Douglas College students must have completed 21 or more credits.
  • The prize must not have been previously received.

To be eligible for the Douglas College International Student Scholarship, the candidate must fulfill all of the requirements listed below:

  • Languages required: English
  • All countries in the world are eligible.
  • Applicants must submit a High School Diploma with a minimum GPA of 60% equivalent or higher to be considered for admission.
  • Applicants must achieve the English language standards (minimum TOEFL iBT score of 83, IELTS Academic module minimum overall band test score of 6.5).
